James Ernest Bunker II (Jeb) (born, raised and currently living in Lafayette) has devoted his life to the two things instilled in him since birth: to be a loving, positively supportive father for his children as his father is, and to provide them the same opportunities he’s had. He builds homes and atmospheres that are pallets for everlasting memories from large gatherings to dad making pancakes on Sunday mornings. Homes encompass utilitarian necessities while also stylizing to create a relaxing environment. For some, the most elaborate wood moldings and hand carvings create such atmospheres; others find their peace in a sleek modern design that only shows the bare necessities. Because of how much Jeb treasured his home growing up, he’s decided to focus his career on building these dreams for others. Jeb finds it extremely enjoyable to be the artisan builder and prides himself on the willingness to still get dirty alongside fellow craftsmen on all of his projects.
When Jeb started working in the trade, he would tell himself on a daily basis “what I lack in experience I will make up for with effort.” Several years later he started Jeb’s General Construction and after 9 years of successful projects under his own license, he still delivers the effort – along with the experience. “My hopes are to still be saying that after 50 years” he notes. Jeb believes “To be the best you must use all your experience, knowledge, skill and vision of a perfect end to set pf guidelines and standards, but also maintain an open mind to developing new systems throughout every job.”
